Sticklepath Community Church
Why not come along and see for yourself what we’re all about?
Who are we?
We are a group of normal people from various backgrounds and jobs. We meet in the village hall, week by week, to encourage each other to ‘Thank’ God for his love and we would encourage others to join us and say ‘Thank you’ as well.
What we believe?
We realise there is more to us than just the physical. We acknowledge it takes more than our brilliant minds to produce a successful globe with all of us on it. We know we need God, and Jesus Christ is our only passport to God.
What do we do?
We have a band who lead the singing and speakers who come to share God’s word from all over Devon and beyond. They are also normal people and some even have a sense of humour! At the end of the service we all hang around and have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee (whatever takes your fancy) and eat quite a few biscuits.
Sunday Club and a crèche for the children is run alongside the service. The Sunday Club enjoy Bible Stories with crafts and other fun things.
There is also a weekly Bible Study where we gather together in someone’s house, have some more tea and biscuits (always essential!) and look a bit more into the Bible and discuss topics.
Representatives from the Church also make the tea and coffee (I think there might be a theme running here) at the monthly Post Office Coffee Morning. Look out for us there!
When does it happen?
The Sunday Services are held in Sticklepath Village Hall at 11am most Sundays with Sunday Club and a crèche run alongside this.
Wednesday nights are Bible Study Nights at 7.30pm.
Youth Club is run fortnightly on a Friday night from 7.30pm to 9pm.
Where is the church?
Sticklepath Village Hall – right in the centre of Sticklepath – I know it doesn’t look much like a church, but we do a good job of transforming it into church every Sunday morning.
Why do we exist?
We aim to share God’s love to his people – that’s you!
